A Programmatic Response: How Katy Cares Meets the Needs of Single-Parent Families

It’s not just one problem that keeps single-parent families stuck. Often there is a confluence of issues that together prevent a single Mom or Dad from overcoming the financial burden of caring for a family today in our suburban community. Typically, in addition to lacking financial and material resources, they also struggle with spiritual and emotional issues, and also perhaps the psychological resolve to manage their current situation. It is estimated that there are more than 5,000 single mothers and another 8,000 women in a dysfunctional relationship or marriage, in the Greater Katy, Fulshear, and Richmond area alone!
